Attention: Ask me something! (Info in this Journal-Entry, somewhere [link])
Old.D: From last year, for the secret-santa-stuff on animexx. A mermaid/river-water-thingie girl. Cute, ain't she?
That place around her is supposed to be some old forgotten shrine/temple-part for some kind of water-goddess. There are, in theory, other different pieces like the dolphin-riding mermaid on the other walls of that room. (Other species most likely, or important people from those..prophets or something. Or different aspects of the goddess.)
I spend most work on the wall behind her. There was a lot of exhausting edge-rendering involved, although it didn't do much good. There are some odd things about that wall, but most of them are somehow there because I wanted them. The rest of the piece....hmmm...well. The time didn't change much. I still think the hands/body/foreground are some muddy mess. There could have been more depth and polished stuff, but I guess it's okay. I ran out of time anyway, and too late is too late.
It's still cute, I think. And more detailed than most of my pieces I guess.
I love how she looks both cute and wild at the same time. She's truly fey, rather than a model with pointy ears and slanted eyes. The scene is wonderful, and her expression fits finding a lost shrine.
Thanks for sharing...
